This program will prepare you for the operations and maintenance of the most current equipment available and teach you to drive log and chip trucks to begin your career in the logging and forest trucking industry.

- loader/crane/slasher
- center mount trailer
- log trucks
Now is the time to earn your CDL-A and prepare for a new career in logging.
Eligibility requirements: Participants must be 18 or older, have earned a high school diploma or HiSET/GED, and have an immunization record verifying vaccination (or titer results indicating immunity) for MMR and Diphtheria/Tenanus administered within the past ten years. Screening of suitable applicants will include an interview with the selection committee, review of applicant's driving record, pre-entrance controlled substance testing, and a physical agility screening.

The Mechanized Logging Operations and Forest Trucking program was created by three Maine community colleges in partnership with the Professional Logging Contractors of Maine and launched in 2017.
This program is 100% grant-funded by the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment, and Training Administration.
Approximately 95 percent of logging in Maine now relies on mechanized equipment. With the majority of operators of this equipment at or near retirement age, the demand for new operators is high.
Participants of the program are highly sought after by employers and often have offers to consider before completion.

2030 job outlook for logging equipment operators is expected to grow year over year, with an anticipated 266 openings annually.
Openings for commercial drivers will exceed 1,100 per year.
